STREET PERFORMER - DJ - PRODUCER
Sam Chimes was born in Nigeria, Africa and lived in Brunei, SE Asia for five impressionable years.
At just nine years old, Chimes started piano lessons which would only last two weeks. It was these two weeks that would affect the rest of his life. In High School he joined various jazz music classes and went on various experiential field trips which undoubtedly affected his musical style.
In 2015, Chimes was accepted into the Vancouver Film School's "Sound for Visual Media" program. Since graduating, he has worked in a number of feature films and tv series including but not limited to "No Tomorrow", "Man in the High Castle", and "Bad Times at the El Royale".
Chimes is part of the Granville Island Busking program, the Translink Busker Program, and the Arts Council of New Westminster. Through the summer of 2018, he toured through Europe, playing 584 shows for a grand total of 1,168 hours at over four countries. The amount of time invested into his art gained him recognition and was nominated for the 2019 Golden Owl "Best Breakout Artist of the Year Award". It was also while on his first European tour where he started his "Artists Killing A Living Interview Sessionz" project.
