FEATURING YOU(TH)...

The Future of Music Starts Here!

Calling All Young Creators!

Do you have a passion for music? Is your teen always creating beats, singing tunes, or curious about how to make their own tracks? Featuring You(th) is here to turn that spark into a skill, with hands-on workshops where they'll learn how to create and perform music using modern music technologies!

Our program runs through July 2025, meeting every Saturday from 2-3 PM at the Yaletown Roundhouse Community Centre. We guide youth aged 19 and under through everything they need to know to take their music to the next level using The Chimes Method - covering live looping, music production, DJing, and stage presence.

The program culminates in a grand showcase concert on July 26th, 2025, where participants will perform their original creations in front of friends, family, and the community. Each student will also receive professional photos and videos from the final concert for their own Electronic Press Kit.

Featuring You(th) is proudly supported by Creative BC and the Province of British Columbia (Grant #2425IM019), making this high-quality music education accessible with just a $5 drop-in fee per session.

What We’ll Be Learning (And Loving Every Minute!)

Each of our Saturday workshops is packed with hands-on fun and learning. Here's what your child can expect:

🎵 Live Looping

We'll start with the basics, teaching your child how to build beats with their voice and layer sounds with a looper. They'll learn to create original samples and develop their sonic foundation through live performance.

🎛️ Music Production

Next, they'll dive into music production using DAWs (Digital Audio Workstations) like GarageBand and Logic Pro. They'll take their loops and turn them into full tracks with professional techniques.

🎧 DJing

It's all about the party! We'll teach them the basics of DJing, mixing tracks, and transitioning from song to song—getting them ready for that live performance moment using Serato and professional equipment.

🎭 Stage Work

As the program progresses, we'll teach them the art of performing live with authentic storytelling and audience connection. They'll develop confidence and learn how to command attention on stage.

📸 Professional Documentation

Throughout the program, professional photographers and videographers will capture their journey, creating content for their own Electronic Press Kit (EPK) - perfect for showcasing their developing skills.

🎉 The Grand Finale: Showcase Concert on July 26th 🎉

By July 26th, your child will be ready to perform live at the Yaletown Roundhouse Community Centre. We'll be wrapping up the program with a professional showcase where all participants will perform the beats, tracks, and skills they've developed.
